Flax Pendant

Inspired by the long, slender leaves of the indigenous flax plant, or harakeke in Māori, the Flax Pendant celebrates a material long valued for its fibre. A Māori proverb reminds us of the importance of preserving resources: “If you cut the central stalk of the flax bush, where will the bellbird feed?” This pendant is available in three sizes—800mm, 1100mm, and 1500mm—and crafted from bamboo plywood. It comes in a range of colors, either painted on one or both sides, and its shallow form is ideal for lower ceiling spaces.

Shipped as a compact kitset, the Flax Pendant is on average 1/30th the volume of the assembled light, reducing shipping impact and minimizing environmental footprint. Each kit includes instructions, spare pieces, 2m flex, and a bulb holder (bulb and ceiling rose not included). Assembly service is available at both of our showrooms.
