Set amongst the vineyards of Hawke’s Bay, this architecturally designed home by Clarkson Architects is a study in strong forms, natural materials and a warm, considered palette. The clean lines and generous glazing create a calm environment, allowing carefully chosen pieces to bring colour, texture and personality to the interior.
The Kartell Kabuki Floor Lamp brings a considered touch of colour to the space. Designed by Ferruccio Laviani, its intricate, lace-like structure and sculptural form provide a playful contrast to the clean architectural lines. Positioned alongside the expansive windows, the transparent green finish catches the natural light, creating a subtle connection to the vineyard landscape beyond.
Within the living space, Kabuki sits comfortably amongst timber, stone and soft, earthy furnishings. Its detailed form provides an interesting contrast to the clean architectural lines, while its green colour adds a small but distinctive moment to the otherwise muted scheme.
As the light changes throughout the day, Kabuki takes on a different character, a sculptural object in daylight and a warm, atmospheric light in the evening. A playful addition to a beautifully resolved interior, and a reminder of how one distinctive piece can bring personality to a space.
